The capital of Tokyo, which is rich in tourist locations, is a leading sightseeing location popular among people from inside and outside the city.
In 2012, as we reached the 100th birthday of the taxi, Tokyo's Olympic bid was also going on.
As one aspect of promoting tourism in Tokyo, we established the Tokyo Sightseeing Taxi Promotion Conference, made up of experts, institutions, organizations, the Taxi industry and others involved in tourism, and we also established the Tokyo Sightseeing Taxi Driver Certification System. In the first round, more than 100 drivers received certification.
We aim to create a structure that is easy to understand and user friendly so customers can feel secure in using it, by developing drivers with a lot of sightseeing knowledge who can provide high-quality service.
