The Tokyo Hire-Taxi Association certifies drivers who can provide guiding services above a certain level as Tokyo Sightseeing Taxi Drivers.
We certify that the driver has obtained the following official certifications and completed all training.
- Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau
- This is a pioneering system Tokyo put in place to develop people who can confidently provide guidance about the attractions of Tokyo.
- National Welfare Transportation Service Association
- This is training that develops taxi drivers who can understand and appropriately respond to the needs and special characteristics of the elderly and disabled, such as by smoothly communicating with them.
- Tokyo Hire-Taxi Association

This is training that uses specialized texts and DVDs, lectures and role playing to teach the basic services, knowledge, manner of speaking and personal appearance necessary to be a sightseeing taxi driver.
